It took me 52 minutes to get an Uber at LAX

Hey buddy. I bet your ass you’re glad you’re not stuck dealing with this calamity.

Eric the Glib and HIS creation, my man! With LOTS OF HELP from his former Senior Counsel (now the UNANIMOUSLY-approved CAO by the placeholders who sit ‘round the horse shoe in Sleazy Hall after an “exhaustive nationwide search"), Rich Llewellyn and his “better”(?) half,  Christopher Caldwell—who got paid to lobby for the new TNC regs at LAX and made out like bandit$ afterward.

All hail Eric the Glib! One-time possible 2020 D presidential wannabe. Dontcha wish he threw his fence into the ring and was now answering questions from the national political media about the utter fiasco at LAX? I do.

At this point, I’d say it would take nothing short of an act of God for The Times/local media to kick him the HELL out of their bed.

He’s now royally screwed Nederlander, Angelenos who travel, and is making it REALLY DIFFICULT on tourists who come to town. In other words, this is known as the ERIC THE GLIB HAT TRICK. But instead of throwing caps onto the ice, per se, people are throwing fits and getting extended exercise for their middle digits. Meanwhile ERIC THE GLIB’s got some discomfort from patting himself on the back so much.

Remember his new trash collection pickup system for condos, apartment buildings and businesses?  This half-assed and corruptly-formulated policy looks to be like a “sister.” It’s about time that the next sis or bro formulated by ERIC THE GLIB be aborted so it won’t f—k over more people.

Clown show, bro. #1 in homelessness and now #1 in administering and managing one of the world’s busiest airports. He and his Columbia degrees are better suited managing a MickeyD’s somewhere in town.*

Mitch Englander Not Present to Vote to Place Election Schedule Change on Ballot

It would be nice if someone in the media asks him why he could not be bothered to be in the City Hall Council Chamber to vote on placing the election schedule change on the March 2015 ballot:

Vote 1

Vote 2

Vote 3

Vote 4

Interestingly, Mitch was present for the votes directly before and after the election schedule change vote:

Before: Before

After: After

Since I am a very trusting person, I am going on the assumption that he had to go to the bathroom when the election schedule change was being debated and voted on, and returned to council chambers to continue voting on subsequent matters. After all, being the nephew of the biggest and most powerful lobbyist in L.A., I have no doubt his bloodlines scream "integrity."

Of course, Mitch will be on the March 2015 ballot himself... trying to run up the score (i.e, pull a "Christie") before he runs to succeed Mike Antonovich the following year on the Board of Supervisors (with Antonovich's endorsement already secured). Better for him to be on the ballot than having to write anything for the ballot. Three years ago when a presumed supporter received a personal email from him containing a triple negative in the one and only sentence, the supporter switched his vote to the well-educated, born-bred-raised-in-the-12th, literate alternative in the race, Brad Smith.

I don't care about Felipe Fuentes not being present to vote; he is not my council member.

Greek Theatre Contract: Corruption in L.A. City Hall?

In answering my subject line rhetorical question: To quote Justice Potter Stewart: "I know it when I see it."

Mayor Gives Out Tickets

Look, the final decision does not rest with the Rec&Parks Commission; it rests with the city council and then the mayor. How long ago was it when it came out that 12 out of the 15 council offices got freebies to the Labor Day Weekend concerts at Grand Park?

Free Tickets

I knew then and I am damn sure others like me did too, that the sole reason they gave them the freebies was to set them up for when the city council votes on the new contract.

GD how I detest this sh*t in CH. At this point, it is not even subtle corruption.

Is Eric a crook?

I don't think so. Are people in his inner-circle...ethically challenged? City council? Staffers?

Does the sun rise in the east and set in the west?

The only difference between L.A. for the past 25 years and Chicago during the Capone Era is the lack of machine guns.

Nederlander has done a wonderful job managing the Greek for many years. The people most impacted by traffic and the shows during concert season (the neighbors) overwhelmingly support Nederlander. Yet unless the MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THE PROCESS (Tom LaBonge, who has long represented the area home to the Greek and Griffith Park) signals he supports Nederlander, Live Nation and their $$$$$ will have BOUGHT the new contract by virtue of their purchase of City Hall in general.

Moreover, it should not be ignored that a very powerful attorney who was a Jim Hahn appointee to the Rec&Parks Commission the last time the contract was up for bid (Lisa Specht), along with her law firm (Manatt, Phelps & Phillips) has now gone over to LN. Manatt's client list on their web site includes AEG and Ticketmaster, but not LN. AEG as you know is partnered with Nederlander, while TM is allied with LN.

Oh by the way, back then Lisa voted as a commissioner for NEDERLANDER.

Is there ANYONE in our "honorable" government in City Hall besides Controller Ron Galperin who does not emit a stench? More and more, I feel that just keeping abreast of local government makes me want to take a continuous shower.

Mr Rant Rants

Occasionally Mr Rant sends me, well, Rants. So I am simply going to post his rants and whether you like em or not, it's an exercise in Free Speech. The opinions expressed by Mr Rant are his alone, I am simply doing a copy and paste! Here is his latest missive:

"This is an excellent read:

LA Times NRA Article

Yep, the individual who should be THE most important person in this country insofar as all things Ebola-related is the surgeon general.
But hardly anyone remembers (much less cares) why we don't have one.
Three intials: NRA
We KNOW that the GOP is a fully-owned subsidiary of the NRA. What most people do not understand is that there are plenty of "outlet stores" in the nation run by D's who are scared sh*tless of the NRA, refuse to vote for ANY COMMON SENSE GUN CONTROL legislation (like outlawing cop-killing bullets, closing the gun show loophole, etc.), and the only difference between them and the R's is the letter next to their name.
So when Pryor, Begich and any other feckless D's lose re-election because they did not have an ample supply of... "what's between their legs," I shall shed no tears when the D's no longer hold the Senate.
Below is an exceptional, thorough analysis of what supporting the NRA has done for the worthless D's this campaign":
